Questions, answered plainly.
If you don't find what you're looking for here, we're happy to help.
Getting started
It's a place to talk to people who've been where you are. We match you anonymously with peers facing similar things. You also get a private journal and a way to reach a professional if it comes to that.
Yes. You're matched on what you're dealing with, not who you are. We don't ask for your real name. The Data & security page walks through exactly how that works.
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. It's peer support. It can sit alongside therapy, but it doesn't replace it, and it isn't a crisis service.
Anything that's weighing on you. Burnout and work stress, anxiety and racing thoughts, grief and loss, loneliness, relationship struggles, new parenthood, a health scare or chronic illness, fighting addiction or working through recovery, living with PTSD or trauma, a big life change, caregiver fatigue, financial hardship, low mood, or just feeling stuck. If you're carrying something and don't want to carry it alone, this is for you. You don't have to name it to talk about it.
Safety & privacy
Everyone signs the same community rules before they connect. Matching is built around shared experience. You can report or block anyone, and a path to a professional is always there.
As little as we can. The Privacy and Data & security pages spell out the details.
mPathy isn't an emergency service. We point people to trained crisis resources instead. The Crisis support page lists them.
Pricing
One membership: $9.99 a month, or $79.99 a year if you'd rather save. That's it. No tiers, no upsells.
Yes. Your first month is free. No charge today, and you can cancel any time before it ends.
Nothing extra. Giving and earning connection points is part of your membership.
Yes. No hoops, no guilt screens.
Why mPathy isn't free
Because we want it to last, and to do good beyond the app. A membership keeps mPathy independent, ad-free, and not reliant on selling your data. It also funds two things we care deeply about: donating to charities our members choose, and investing in behavioral health. We'll share more about exactly how that works soon.
Points & giving back
When a peer really shows up for you, you can give them connection points as a thank you. It's a simple way to recognize the people who listen well.
Each quarter, the members who've earned the most points get to choose which charities mPathy donates to. The empathy you give the community turns into real support for causes that matter.
Partners & charities
Three kinds of partners: licensed mental health professionals people can reach when peer support isn't enough, associations and nonprofits that offer specialized help, and the charities we support through member-directed donations.
We team up with associations, nonprofits, and community groups whose members could use a calmer, anonymous place to talk, and who can offer specialized help we can point people toward. If that's your organization, reach out through our contact page.
Part of what your membership funds goes back out as charitable giving. Each quarter, the members who've earned the most connection points choose which charities we donate to.
Professionals
We'd love that. Head to the For professionals page to register your interest.
No. When we connect a member to you, we don't take referral fees or a slice of your sessions. What you charge your clients stays entirely yours.
Not at all. mPathy is peer support, not therapy. Think of us as a calm front door that helps people reach a professional when they're ready. Peer support and clinical care do different jobs, and people often need both.
